RE: Termination of Deloitte & Touche Ghana Contract with Government of Liberia

Dear Mr. Copeland,

Thank you for your letter dated 13 December 2002. Global Witness welcomes the decision made of Deloitte & Touche Ghana to resign from the audit contract previously made with the Government of Liberia. Deloitte & Touche has correctly determined that the agreement, as originally designed, cannot be properly fulfilled to Deloitte & Touche’s high international standards. Global Witness welcomes this news, and commends Deloitte and Touche for choosing the right course of action.
