Global Witness conducted a three month Feasibility Study on Independent Forest Monitoring (IFM) in the DR Congo, from August to October 2007. The Study aimed to evaluate the management of forest resources, the nature and extent of illegal logging in some selected ‘hot spots’, and the functioning and performance of the forest administration’s control system.
